NEURAPRO-E (North America, EURope, Australia PROdrome) Study


In collaboration with researchers at Mental Health Center Copenhagen, this study investigates the HPA axis, oxidative stress and cognition.

The specific themes for the UHR cohort I were the HPA axis, oxidative stress, and cognition. 50 UHR patients and 50 matched healthy controls were included from 2009 – 2014. Recruitment and data collection took place in collaboration with the PECANS study. First-episode studies have been based at CINS/CNSR and the UHR cohorts have been based at Psychiatric Center Copenhagen, Bispebjerg.

The baseline examination program is identical to assessments in PECANS (with the exception of the reward paradigm and SPECT) and the data will be compared between cohorts. A subgroup of the UHR I patients are included in the "NEURAPRO-E (North America, EURope, Australia PROdrome) Study: A multicenter RCT of Omega-3 Fatty Acids and Cognitive-Behavioural Case Management for Symptomatic Patients at Ultra-High Risk for Early Progression to Schizophrenia and Other Psychotic Disorders".
