Anne Katrine Pagsberg

Aktuel forskning

Anne Katrine Pagsberg er principal investigator for et randomiseret klinisk forsøg, der undersøger effekterne af kognitiv adfærdsterapi hos børn og unge med OCD (TECTO – Treatment Effects of Cognitive Therapy in Adolescents with OCD). Hun leder (sponsor) et longitudinelt studie af børn og unge med skizofren psykose (TEA – Tolerability and Efficacy of Antipsychotics). Hun er principal investigator for et studie der undersøger mor-barn samspillet hos spædbørn af mødre med bipolar sygdom (MIPAD - A longitudinal study of Mother-infant Interaction, affective cognition, and attachment postpartum in new mothers with bipolar Affective Disorder).

Research profile and leadership experience

My main academic interest is clinical research in children and adolescents with mental disorders, primarily psychopharmacology, early onset psychosis, abnormal neurodevelopmental and neurocognitive trajectories, OCD, and eating disorders. My PhD (2004) was a prospective multicentre neuroimaging case-control study on "Structural Brain Abnormalities in Children and Adolescents with First-Episode Psychosis", and I participated in a parallel neuroimaging study concerning treatment effects on basal ganglia volumes in adults. The cohort of patients and controls from my PhD study were reinvestigated in a 5-year follow-up study, which I lead, and I supervised PhD JR Jepsen (2010) "The development of intelligence and specific cognitive functions in first- episode early-onset schizophrenia patients". In the period 2008-2010, I was Head of research, Mental Health Centre for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Bispebjerg. Since 2006, I have been member of the steering group and since 2009; I have been the project leader, sponsor and principal investigator of the TEA (Tolerance and Effect of Antipsychotics in Children and Adolescents with Psychosis) study. Currently, my focus is treatment trials on antipsychotic treatment in children and adolescents with schizophrenia spectrum psychosis, and psychotherapy for OCD. Furthermore, I am engaged in and supervise projects on methylphenidate treatment for children and adolescents with ADHD, risk of suicidal behavior in treatment with antidepressants in children

and adolescents, off-label use and side effects in pediatric psychopharmacology, diagnostic validation in child- and adolescents psychiatry, neurobiological markers of ADHD and schizophrenia, and infants of mothers with bipolar disorder. In addition, I have has experience with research in eating disorders in youth. Methodologically I works with randomised controlled trials, cohort studies, clinical studies comparing mentally patients with typically developing youth, register studies, and meta-analyses. Current research: I am the principal   investigator for a randomised controlled trial investigating the effects of cognitive behavioral therapy in youth with OCD (TECTO – Treatment Effects of Cognitive Therapy in Adolescents with OCD). I am the leader and sponsor of a longitudinal study of youth with schizophrenia spectrum psychosis (TEA – Tolerability and Efficacy of Antipsychotics). I am a principal investigator for a study investigating the mother-child relationship in infants of mothers with bipolar disorder (MIPAD - A longitudinal study of Mother-infant Interaction, affective cognition, and attachment postpartum in new mothers with bipolar Affective Disorder).

Teaching

Since 1995 associate professor at the University of Copenhagen, Faculty of Health Sciences. In the period 2006- 2010 and again since 2016 responsible for the pregraduate education in Child- and Adolescent Psychiatry.

Since 1995 teaching postgraduate education for the The Danish Board of Health in Specialist education in Child- and Adolescent Psychiatry.
