Our aim is to carry out excellent research in eating and feeding disorders in a multidisciplinary and diverse setting. We aim to contribute to answering crucial research questions and develop a critical mass of scientists that will contribute to research in Eating Disorders in Denmark, Europe, and the world, improving care and outcomes for sufferers. Our main research areas are: - Clinical intervention studies, with the goal of developing and testing new and existing treatment and interventions in clinical settings
- Neuropsychology and neuroimaging studies, devoted to discovering the impact of eating disorders on the brain
- Biological and biomarkers studies that help us understand the link between body and mind in feeding and eating disorders and possible predictors of outcome
- Epidemiology and genetics studies, aiming to understand how and why feeding and eating disorders develop, by examining population-based cohorts and register data from different countries.
Our investigative approach includes quantitative methodologies, e.g., epidemiological methods, genomics, neuroimaging, behavioral assessments, and other experimental methods. Complementing these quantitative techniques with qualitative methodology that offers nuanced insights into the complex nature of feeding and eating disorders. CEDaR is fully integrated within the Specialist regional treatment center for Eating Disorders (SPIS) situated within the Mental Health Centre Ballerup in Copenhagen, Denmark.
