The Copenhagen Study of Accelerated ageing in Depression: The CPH-SAD study
This is a combined register and birth cohort-based study that investigates the influence of depression on the aging process. This includes factors such as genetic vulnerability, abnormalities of the hypothalamic–pituitary–adrenal (HPA) axis, low-grade inflammation and oxidative stress processes at the cellular level. With data from the so-called Metropolit Birth Cohort we wish to disentangle the mechanisms behind the ageing process and elucidate their relative contributions.

Copenhagen study of Psychotropics during Pregnancy (COPRA)
With data from the Copenhagen Baby Heart project, this study investigates the effects of psychotropics (antidepressants, antipsychotics and mood stabilisers) taken during pregnancy. Focus is on preterm birth, heart malformations, symptoms of the neonate and passage of various psychotropics through the placenta. The information arising from the present project will make physicians better prepared to give advice as to the proper treatment in these psychiatric conditions and possible adverse effects on the baby.

Stress during pregnancy - how does it affect the baby?
Prenatal maternal stress affects the fetus and the future development of the child. This so-called fetal programming is involved in the pathogenesis of several diseases. However, it is still unclear what the underlying mechanisms are. This project examines if psychosocial stress during pregnancy induces epigenetic changes in the newborn or in placenta and furthermore if epigenetic changes influence the offspring stress response in the first year of life.

"Healthy Brain" - træning af kognitive forstyrrelser efter depression
Dette projekt er et samarbejde med firmaet Brain+, som har udviklet en specialdesignet applikation til smartphones og tablets, som muliggør træning af de kognitive evner hos fx mennesker med depression på en intelligent, brugervenlig og effektiv måde. Projektets formål er en videnskabelig evaluering af denne applikations potentiale.
