Tidspunkt Ikon
Dato: 23-06-2023
Tid: 9:30 - 15:30

Kristineberg 3, 2100 Kbh Ø - room 5.01

In this workshop, prof. Kate Tchanturia will share experience on how to develop autism friendly clinical pathway for patients with eating disorders and autism.

Topics include:

  • How treatment services can be aware of autism and treat the ED instead of the autistic features in a person-centered way
  • How to acknowledge sensory sensitivities of patients and tailor the therapeutic environment
  • How to adapt clinicians’ communication styles to accommodate autism features

The workshop will be based on experiences from the PEACE Pathway (Pathway for Eating Disorders and Autism Developed from Clinical Experience) www.peacepathway.com. The PEACE Pathway aims at tailoring support for people with eating disorders (ED) and autism, since this group tend to benefit less from standard treatments. The PEACE pathway was developed in collaboration with patients, families and carers, researchers, and clinicians, and is led by Prof. Tchanturia.
