The BOND Study - Birth with Oxytocin and Normal/ Abnormal Development

Principle investigator, post.doc. Nicole Nadine Lønfeldt.

The BOND Study is a register-based study that investigates whether synthetic oxytocin (synOT), a common tool in obstetric practice, is associated with anxiety symptoms in children. Given the potential for synOT to dysregulate the infant OT system and the pivotal role OT plays in anxiety, direct relationships are plausible. However, as OT plays critical roles in maternal bonding and mood, an indirect relationship between synOT and child anxiety is also possible.
