Clinical Sexological Transcultural Study

Research aim: To investigate sexual health issues among patients at the Competence Centre for Transcultural Psychiatry (CTP) and examine their impact on treatment outcomes. This study will serve as a foundation for a future PhD project on sexual health issues in minority ethnic patients.

Design: A retrospective cohort study

Population: The study includes around 1,100 trauma-affected patients from CTP who participated in five major RCTs focusing on various treatments for PTSD

Methods: Data from the five RCTs include variables on sexual health issues (both psychological and physical), sociodemographic information, and standardized clinical ratings such as HTQ, HSCL-25, Hamilton-17, WHO-5, Sheehan Disability Scale, and EQ-5D. Descriptive and regression analyses will be performed to examine the relationships between sexual health issues and treatment outcomes.

Primary investigators: Dávid Húsdal á Steig, MD

Supervisors: Annamaria Giraldi, MD, PhD, Jessica Carlsson, MD, PhD
