Research aim:
- To compare two different trauma populations in relation to symptoms and prevalence of PTSD and CPTSD, symptoms of anxiety and depression, trauma history, level of functioning, quality of life, sleep disturbances, and sociodemographic factors.
- To investigate the abovementioned factors as predictors of treatment response.
Design: Cohort study
Population: 50 patients from the Competence Centre for Transcultural Psychiatry (CTP) and 50 patients from the Psychotherapeutic Unit PTSD team (PU). Inclusion criteria: ≥ 18 years, referred to treatment at CTP or PU, and history of traumatic event(s).
Methods: International Trauma Interview (ITI) for PTSD and complex PTSD (CPTSD) for ICD-11 at baseline. Measures at baseline: Sociodemographic data, ITQ, HTQ, HSCL-25, WHO-5, SDS, ISI. Measures at end-of-treatment: ITQ, HTQ, HSCL-25, WHO-5, SDS, ISI. Additionally, we collect feasibility data of the ITI, including time consumption and number of sessions needed to conduct the interview and use of an interpreter.
A parallel study is being carried out at the Danish Veterans Centre so that we can ultimately compare three different trauma populations.
